The Details

Whether you’re joining us for one night or the entire weekend, we encourage you to review this section in its entirety.

Guests arriving on Thursday are strongly encouraged to stay overnight in Santa Barbara to avoid evening travel through the mountains. If you plan to spend Friday night in Santa Barbara, please plan your Saturday arrival in Santa Ynez accordingly. As a reminder, standard hotel check-in is typically around 3:00 PM, and shuttles are tentatively scheduled to begin service to the ceremony at 3:00 PM.

For guests joining us on Friday or Saturday, we recommend staying in Santa Ynez.

Recommended hotel location by check-in date:

Thursday | Santa Barbara
Friday | Santa Ynez*
Saturday | Santa Ynez

*If you choose to stay in Santa Barbara on Friday, we kindly encourage you to plan ahead for Saturday morning, as typical hotel check-in times may not align with the wedding schedule.

by AIR

distance to downtown
santa barbara:

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) | 9.4 miles

Los Angeles Int'l Airport (LAX) | 98.3 miles

Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) | 89.4 miles
-----------------------------------------------------------------
We sincerely apologize, but there are currently no nonstop flights into SBA from New York, New Jersey, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Tennessee, and several other states. For guests traveling from these areas, we recommend selecting a one-stop itinerary. Los Angeles (LAX) and Burbank (BUR) are also convenient alternatives, though traffic can extend travel time. Please allow a comfortable buffer in your travel plans.

by TRAIN

For guests flying into Los Angeles (LAX) or Burbank (BUR), the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner offers a relaxing alternative to driving. The route follows the California coastline, making it one of the most scenic train rides in the country—with sweeping ocean views along the way. The train arrives directly into Santa Barbara, providing a convenient and comfortable option for those who prefer to avoid rental cars or traffic.

by CAR

Our celebrations will take you from the coastline of Santa Barbara to the vineyards of Santa Ynez. The drive between the two passes through the Santa Ynez Mountains, offering beautiful scenery along a winding, curving road. For comfort and safety, we kindly recommend avoiding this drive after dark whenever possible. The drive is approximately forty-five minutes.

A rental car is recommended, but not required. Santa Ynez remains within a reasonable Uber/Lyft distance from Santa Barbara, making rideshare a convenient alternative for guests who prefer not to drive.

Santa Barbara Hotels

There are many hotels in Santa Barbara, so here is a shortlist of our favorites.

Santa Ynez Hotels

We encourage guests to reserve accommodations early. Santa Ynez is a very popular destination, and there are multiple weddings in the area this weekend.

Frequently Asked Questions

travel & transportation

How do I get to & from the wedding?

Shuttles are required for all guests and are the most comfortable way to reach the venue. Shuttles will run continuously to and from the venue making stops at the local hotels in Santa Ynez. An official shuttle schedule will be released prior to the wedding weekend. Please check back for more information.

IMPORTANT NOTE: There is no on-site parking at the wedding venue. Any guests arriving with a vehicle will not be permitted to park, and will be directed back to town for shuttle service. While rideshare drop off is permitted, it is not recommended. Our venue is located deep in wine country, with limited cell service and signage. It can be extremely dark and difficult to navigate if you are unfamiliar with the area. Additionally, Santa Ynez Valley is a very small town. There are less than 10 uber drivers serving the whole area. Wait times for rideshare can be very long.

How do I get to & from the rehearsal dinner?

Similarly to the wedding, all guests will arrive by shuttle. Please check back soon for more details.

How do I get to & from the welcome party?

Depending on where you are staying, we recommend walking or using rideshare apps to get to and from the welcome party. Drivers are welcome, but remember, there will be drinks!

I heard there are shuttles, what do I need to know?

Guests are required to take shuttle service to and from the wedding venue. Shuttles will run a loop through Santa Ynez, Solvang, Los Olivos and the wedding venue. Please check back soon for more details.

Can I Uber back to Santa Barbara the night of the wedding?

It depends, are you a gambling man or not? There are less than 10 Uber drivers in the Santa Ynez Valley. It is not impossible, but it is very unlikely that any of these drivers will accept a ride going that far away. It is a very small town and wedding weekends drive a lot of business. Remember, the ride back to downtown Santa Barbara is 45 minutes of dark, steep, winding roads. For your safety, and our peace of mind, we recommend you stay in one of the lovely hotels in the Santa Ynez Valley.

Can I stay in Santa Barbara the night of the wedding?

We DO NOT recommend staying in Santa Barbara the night of the wedding. The shuttles will NOT be running from the venue back to downtown Santa Barbara. The drive between the wedding venue and downtown Santa Barbara is 45 minutes of dark, steep, winding roads. For your safety, we recommend you stay in one of the lovely hotels in the Santa Ynez Valley.

attire & weather

What is "black tie optional"?

Black Tie Optional means guests are welcome to, but not required to, wear a tuxedo. A dark suit and tie is perfectly appropriate and fully meets the dress code. For women, we suggest floor-length gowns, formal cocktail dresses, or other elevated evening attire. Please note that the ceremony and cocktail hour will take place on grass, so women may want to opt for block heels, wedges, or heel protectors for comfort.

What is "semi-formal"?

Just shy of cocktail attire. Men should wear slacks and a dress shirt. No tie is needed, and a sport coat is optional. Women can opt for a cocktail dress, jumpsuit, or dressy separates. Think polished and celebratory, without the formality of a full suit and tie.

What is "coastal cocktail"?

For a relaxed, Santa Barbara evening out, we suggest a stylish, dinner-appropriate look with a coastal feel. Men might choose a lightweight button-down or linen shirt with chinos or dressy slacks (no tie or jacket needed). Women could opt for a flowy dress, cocktail mini, jumpsuit, or chic coordinating set. Simple, polished pieces that feel celebratory—nothing too formal required.

What weather can I expect?

All events throughout the weekend will take place outdoors. Early October in both Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez Valley typically brings warm, sunny days and cool evenings. We recommend packing sunscreen for during the day and a light layer for after sunset.

Are any of the events outdoors?

Yes, all events will take place outdoors so everyone can enjoy the beautiful California weather. We recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap for the cooler evening temperatures.

schedule details

What time does the wedding end?

The wedding will end promptly at 10pm due to city noise ordinances. Shuttles will be making rounds to Maverick's Saloon for the after-party, as well as to all the local hotels for drop-off.

What time does the after party end?

The after-party will continue until Maverick’s Saloon closes at 2:00 AM. Shuttles will run continuous loops back to the hotel throughout the night, with service available until closing time.

party details

Why do I need to RSVP for the after party?

Maverick's Saloon is the only bar open late in the Santa Ynez Valley (besides the casino). It is extremely popular and there is often a line to get in. We are hosting our guests in a private section of a public space. Any guests who do not RSVP will not receive a wristband in advance and will not be able to enter through our private section. If you do not have a wristband you must enter through general admission. General admission does not guarantee entrance and is limited by capacity.

Is the after party hosted?

Yes, drinks and late night snacks are on us!! There will also be a live band until 1am. Shuttles will continue to serve our guests at Maverick's until closing.

Is the welcome party hosted?

Yes, drinks and dessert are on us!! We are so excited to welcome you to Santa Barbara, are are deeply appreciative of you making the trip!

There will not be dinner service at this event. Please plan accordingly.

Are phones or personal cameras allowed during the ceremony?

We’ve hired professional photographers and videographers to capture the day, so you can relax and enjoy the experience with us.
